Paul Iske announced as first keynote speaker for Digifest 2025
The professor of ‘failure’ will outline how collaboration and learning from shared challenges can help the education sector thrive.
Paul Iske, professor at the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics and CFO (chief failure officer) at the Institute for Brilliant Failures will kick off the two-day Digifest event where more than 1,000 delegates will explore how to approach the challenges for today’s education sector and build for a better tomorrow.
Iske brings a unique worldview to the event, exploring ideas of collaboration and experiential learning throughout a varied career in the corporate and educational worlds. By focussing on learning from failure and challenge, Iske will show delegates how to create stronger organisations and more successful work through a culture that accepts and uses failure and challenge more effectively.

Booking for Digifest 2025, which takes place at Birmingham International Convention Centre on 11-12 March and online, is now open and the programme is live.
Jisc members can book in person and online tickets now – and individual day tickets are also available for the first time. Booking is open until 28 February.
Attendees can expect a programme of more than 50 sessions which examine the challenges the sector is facing, and the innovative practices, strategies and collaborations being used to respond.

- Innovate together: harnessing partnerships and collaboration for digital transformation – Milton Keynes College
- Post-hype AI literacy: empowering staff and students in education – Hills Road College and University of Birmingham
- How are universities enabling a more inclusive digital environment for their international students? – University of Leeds and University of Northampton
